Long Term Camping at Ripley ’s
My wife and I are part and parcel of the Long Term Campaholics, being long term campers since March 2020, when we became pensioners. We visited al those far off (and near) places we have never been to.
With the drastic diesel price increase end 2021 we were forced to slow down and decided to do long term camping at Ripley ‘s, based on a monthly quotation received from owners Kallie and Christa. We have camped here since December 2021 and enjoyed our stay very much.
Ripley ‘s is situated on a 25 hectare plot in Brakwater in the foothills of the Khomas Hochland. Lovely walking trails in rough terrain passing through lovely nature, which tests the body with the result of working up a sweat, increasing the heartbeat and allowing for deep breathing – great for the “good feeling” after a work out. Fresh air by the cubic meters
Plenty of Spingbok with lambs born every year, Sable antelopes and Blesboks. Bird lovers will enjoy their stay and be able to see the annual visiting birds (Diderick Cuckoo, Klaas’s Cuckoo, Jacobin Cuckoo, .......) and the abundance of local birds including Pearl Spotted Owl, Monteiro’s Hornbill, Ashy and Carps Tit, even Fish Eagles migrating between Goriangab and Von Bach, to name but a few.
There are tree camp-sites with shade net protection on brick paving hard stand and own ablution with lovely views. 220V electricity and water on site. Contact Kallie or Christa for a monthly rent quotation – you will be surprised to find out one can stay here for less than the rent in Windhoek 16 kilometres away. Ripley ‘s also have one bedroom bungalows to rent with own ablution and small kitchenette. Ripley ‘s is safe – we never felt endangered.
So dust of your motor-home and pack your caravan. Leave the hustle and bustle of Windhoek behind and come and enjoy nature and hospitality at its best.

Thank you Kallie, Christa and Charles, we enjoyed your hospitality and the safety of your camp-site. We have to move to our retirement address, because ageing is not for sissies.
