Here amongst the wind swept houses of Kolmanskop lies the key to a past long gone, the remains of an era where diamonds sparkled and sustained life along the coast of Namibia.

Visitors to the ghost town can take an hour-long tour offered daily and it can be booked from Luderitz. The tour reflects on the town’s boom and bust.

Tours are offered on a daily basis, but there is only one tour on Sundays.

Preferably, you should book an early morning tour, especially in the summer as the heat can be devastating. Make sure to bring along some water for the duration. Tours are offered both in English and German.

Photography is permitted for amateurs at a cost and professional photographers need special permits.
